Blakk Jack Samm gambled his way through high school before working as a freelance photographer. He paved his way through his bachelor's and master's degrees. Halfway through working on his master's degree, Samm realized that he had become a writer. He had lived his life as a poet and found less freedom in other forms of writing. Still, he writes poetry, anticipating a book of poems next year although feels a great sense of accomplishment as a book author. In addition, he still truly enjoys the thrill of the gambler competing on the Black Jack tables in the casinos.
Inspired by a desire to educate, Blakk Jack Samm wants people who read this book to gain a fresh understanding of American history. As a single grandparent, the historical author wants to inspire future generations in their awareness of what it means to be black in America.
